For a long time I have wanted to upgrade the very first CoCo I ever used – the one purchased by the Dauphin Computer Club in 1980 and housed at the Public Library where members could take turns bringing in our cassettes and working on our code.
I did not see the point in upgrades to the CoCo 1 (Rev. D) while it still had the original “chicklet” keyboard as I knew I would never use it; it was OK to start with, but not anymore.
Thankfully, after a few years of occasional searching, I found a keyboard replacement in kit form! Jacob and I got to work building it and ran into a number of problems – here is video of our adventure:
